ALGS Championship Held Alongside Insomnia The Gaming Festival
By Xandria Morden|July 19, 2023|1 Comment
Tier-one Apex, the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, returns in September for the final event of the season.
The event will take place in Birmingham from September 6-10. This is the final and biggest event of the current esports season. The stakes are also doubled at the ALGS Championship, where the $1 million prize pools of the year’s previous two LANs becomes $2 million. The best part? It will be held alongside the biggest UK gaming festival, the Insomnia The Gaming Festival.
Teams qualify for ALGS Champs by accumulating enough points throughout the various Splits and Playoffs during the regular season. 10 more teams will be decided during the Last Chance Qualifiers which will take place over 3 days from July 21 to July 23, 2023. Two teams from each of the five regions will qualify for ALGS Champs via the LCQ.
These are all the teams that have secured their spot for the ALGS Championships 2023:
The Apex Legends Global Series Championship 2023 is set to take place from September 6th to 10th 2023 at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. This venue will be right beside the Birmingham NEC, where Insomnia Gaming Festival is being held. Insomnia i71 will be taking place at the same time as ALGS. However i71 will run from September 7th to the 10th.
This year, Insomnia i71 will take place at the same time as ALGS, as i71 runs from September 7th to 10th.
Tickets for the ALGS Championship 2023 will go on sale on Friday July 21st at 4pm BST (8am PST).
Two of the ALGS events have taken place in the UK this year in which the last 2 were held at the Copper Box Arena in London: the Split 1 Playoffs, and the Split 2 Playoffs. The Copper Box Arena has a seating of around 7,500, while Resorts World Arena has a capacity of 15,685. So it’s just over twice the seating capacity of the Copper Box.
