Honkai Star Rail 1.2: Trailblaze Quest Walkthrough
Free-to-play RPG Honkai Star Rail is back with a brand-new story quest, and it’s as epic as you would expect it to be.
The new Trailblaze Mission: A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant brings in new story revelations and offers a bunch of lovely boss fights. Here’s a walkthrough on all of them: this is all spoilers, of course, so tread lightly.
The quest goes back and forth between the Trailblazer’s party and Dan Heng, who is the main subject of this quest line. There are two boss fights, but only one of them is a “story” type fight where it’s really hard to lose since you’re given game-breaking attacks and tools to finish the fight.
There is also a story dungeon with puzzles involving turning on runes in the correct sequence. The video below features the solution to that puzzle. Head to 1:34:48 for the full solution.
Phantylia the Undying has three phases, and all of them involves lotus blossoms as her extra support. You will get a mandatory party member in your team: Jing Yuan. He’s pretty strong and useful in this fight, but if he’s KO’ed at any time, you lose the fight.
For party setup, try to recruit a Healer(The Abundance), a Wind user DPS (The Hunt), and anyone who can tank or at least protect Jing in some form (The Preservation). Our party setup is Dan Heng, Bai Lu, and Trailblazer (Preservation, Fire).
In the first phase, Phantylia will have two yellow lotus blossoms in her party. These blossoms will heal themselves and steal your Skill Points, which are essential in battle. You will need to use elements they’re weak against to kill them fast otherwise you’ll be Skill Points-less for the fight. Luckily, Jing Yuan’s Skill attack hits all enemies, and you already have an awesome Wind user in your party from the get-go: Dan Heng. Destroy the flowers, attack Phantylia, and you’ll eventually get to Phase 2.
In Phase 2, Phantylia will summon two dark lotus blossoms that periodically deal damage to your party and stun them. Also, you cannot use Elemental attacks to break their resistance. Just focus your attacks on Phantylia while using AoE attacks from Jing to keep the enemies at bay. At this point, you can gain access to Dan Heng’s Imbibitor Lunae special attack Cloudhymn Roar, where all enemies get hit with a massive special move. It’s also the only move that can break the dark lotus blossoms.
Jing has a support ability that can also hit all enemies, so that helps with the damage and the whittling of Phantylia’s resistance bar. Just make sure to heal and tank for Jing; Bai Lu can heal Jing while Trailblazer can use their Skill to taunt enemies to their direction.
In Phase 3. all Lotus Blossom types will be at Phantylia’s disposal, and she can take extra turns to attack your party. Just use a combination of Cloudhymn Roar, Jing’s AoE attacks, and any available Ultimate to deal with Phantylia and the yellow blossoms. Just don’t focus fire on the dark lotuses; Jing’s attacks will eventually deal with them.
